The ecological corridor and the road are different

The west-shore ecological corridor is not the same as the public road around Erhai. Vehicle access is managed. Check the current rules at the chosen entrance and whether the rental bicycle is admitted; do not assume a rented electric vehicle can enter. Pedestrians and other visitors share the space.

Choose an easy out-and-back

Caicun or Longkan can be starting references when arranging your approach from Dali Old Town. Agree where the bicycle returns and choose a turnaround point based on wind, crowds and energy. A short ride with lake stops is a complete outing; circling the lake is a different distance and road commitment.

Check the bicycle before leaving

Check brakes, tyres, saddle height and how the rental is charged. Ask about locks, a helmet, breakdown assistance and the return deadline. Carry water, sun and rain protection and a charged phone. Stop away from the moving path when taking photographs, and shorten the outing if weather changes.

Choose guiding and transport separately

Tell a guide or organiser the group’s cycling experience and the section you want. If someone prefers walking, arrange a shared meeting point instead of an identical riding distance. Confirm what the service includes and the weather alternative. This page provides a planning outline, not a supported ride or equipment reservation.
