Lugu Lake in three days from Lijiang
Two road days around a full day at the lake, staying in one confirmed village base.
Choose a lakeside base, explore a few viewpoints and make time for the road journey from Lijiang.

Lugu Lake lies on the Yunnan–Sichuan border. This guide approaches from Lijiang on the Yunnan side, where Daluoshui, 大落水, is a useful accommodation and transport reference. A hotel elsewhere around the lake may mean a different arrival route. Give the driver the village and exact property, not just the lake name.
Begin with a lakeside walk near your base. On another outing, consider the Lige, 里格, area and viewpoints if the current road access suits your plan. A full road circuit adds driving and repeated stops; it is not necessary to enjoy the lake. Avoid changing accommodation nightly simply to collect different viewpoints.
If boats are operating, use an authorised service with an agreed route, fare and life jackets. Weather and lake-protection rules can change access. Mosuo communities live around the lake; homes, religious spaces and family life are not automatically visitor attractions. Arrange any hosted visit with consent and ask before taking close photographs.
A three-day side trip allows arrival, a lake day and a return journey. Check the current transfer options from Lijiang and keep a margin before any onward flight or train. Ask accommodation providers about heating, meal options and the pickup location. For a mixed-age group, agree comfortable stopping points rather than imposing a fixed arrival deadline.
