Start with the village streets

Travel from your Lijiang base to Baisha, 白沙, and agree a clear meeting point for the return. Walk the streets before choosing a café or meal. Keep views of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain as a possibility when visibility allows, not the condition for enjoying the village.

Understand what the murals add

The Baisha mural heritage adds historical context to the surrounding settlement. Check the current visitor entrance and rules if you want to see it. A knowledgeable guide can help distinguish Naxi history and the different cultural influences represented here. Do not assume that a village walk includes museum admission or interpretation.

Leave space for ordinary village life

Keep doorways and working lanes clear, ask before close portraits and recognise private courtyards. If visiting a studio, confirm whether it is open for browsing or for a booked activity. Choose a meal by its menu and your needs, with time to sit rather than a sequence of shopping stops.

Combine with Shuhe only if the day stays comfortable

Shuhe can be another stop on an agreed transfer route, but each town deserves time on foot. Share your interests and preferred language when asking for a guide. Confirm the meeting point, transport, admissions and guiding fee separately; no workshop or hosted encounter is reserved by reading this outline.
