An itinerary idea, ready to adapt to your pace and travel arrangements.
Day 1 · arrive in Kunming
Reach your confirmed hotel and use the remaining day for Green Lake or a short neighbourhood walk. If you arrive late, begin with dinner and rest. Match the following train to Kunming or Kunming South station before setting a pickup time.
Days 2–3 · Dali and one lakeshore day
Travel to Dali and continue to your chosen base. Use the arrival afternoon for old-town streets. On the next day, choose a west-shore walk or cycle with a manageable return, or a Xizhou village outing. Keep Cangshan for an added day rather than packing it into this short stay.
Days 4–5 · Lijiang and Baisha
Continue to Lijiang, allowing a station transfer and luggage meeting point. Walk Dayan after settling in. Give the next day to Baisha or Shuhe, with time for a meal and local history. A Jade Dragon Snow Mountain visit would replace this day or require another night.
Days 6–7 · Shangri-La at a gentler pace
Take the confirmed onward connection and begin gently around Dukezong. On the next day, plan Songzanlin and, if conditions and energy allow, a short Napa wetland outing. Keep time for meals and rest at the higher elevation. Pudacuo is an additional park day, not an automatic third stop.
Day 8 · depart from the right gateway
Work backwards from your booked train or flight. If returning to Kunming, keep the actual connection time and airport or station transfer in the plan. Add Lugu Lake as a separate extension rather than a detour on this departure day. Transport, admissions, guiding and accommodation are arranged separately from this reference itinerary.
