Rail, road and the last part of the journey

A useful connection takes you to the right place, not merely the right name on a map.

Confirm every station and airport

Large cities can have multiple stations and airports. Save the exact Chinese name and address of each departure and arrival point. Railway arrival is not necessarily arrival at your hotel or scenic area; plan the onward transfer and a realistic connection buffer.

Book using the right identity document

Use the official railway channel or a clearly identified booking provider. Check the document types accepted, name format, collection or entry instructions and cancellation conditions for your booking. Use the same travel document that was accepted for the ticket, and allow time for station checks.

Make the road segment explicit

For a transfer, confirm the meeting point, driver contact, passengers, luggage, final drop-off and what happens if your train or flight is delayed. Driver language, guiding and sightseeing stops are separate details; do not assume they are included.
