An itinerary idea, ready to adapt to your pace and travel arrangements.
Day 1 · settle into the old town
Continue from Dali station to your accommodation, then walk a few old-town streets and choose a meal. Keep room for tea or a café stop. Save the hotel’s vehicle access point before making plans for the next day; a pedestrian address may differ from the car pickup.
Day 2 · choose a lakeshore section
Arrange access near Caicun or Longkan and walk or use an admitted bicycle along a comfortable stretch. Confirm where a rented bicycle must be returned. Stop for the landscape rather than chasing every named photo spot. Wind, crowds and the group’s energy should shape your turnaround point.
Day 3 · Xizhou and a village meal
Visit Xizhou for streets, Bai courtyard architecture and baba. Add a confirmed craft session in Zhoucheng only if you want the extra transfer. Let the final train or onward journey determine how much to include. Choose one village well rather than a rushed sequence of paid stops.
Swap a day to suit your interests
For Cangshan, replace a day or extend the stay after checking the chosen cableway and walking area. For Shuanglang, organise a separate road outing to that shore. Keep this outline flexible: it is a reference journey, with transport, food, workshops and admissions confirmed separately.
